The first two weeks of school!
I had some school type papers I've been saving for this time of year. I THINK they were from Simple Stories. There are also a few coordinating Stampin' Up! solids thrown in there as well. The wood veneer was from Studio Calico I believe and the set had scissors, apples, a few numbers, and other cool schoolish stuff.
On the left we have:
-The title card and weeks in review along the top row
-the middle row has the last night of summer break root beer floats and swim time, then a cute filler card and a pic of the kids on the first day of school. This is the first year all 3 kids are in school so I'm feeling a bit nostalgic (and excited).
-The bottom row has a pic of Ken and Barbie...in a car (I thought they were kissig but the daughter tells me Ken is protecting Barbie)...and a gun. Seriously, My kids barely watch tv...and it's all PBS educational type shows. Where do they get this stuff?
-The Starbucks pic on the bottom is to commemorate my husband and I on a little morning date the first day of school. A date where we didn't have to pay a babysitter, or get things ready for one, and had many hours to do as we wished. Ahhhhh. Just one day (because otherwise it's been crazy busy). There is a shot of the coffee cups because I love that the barista lined up the lid holes nicely. Usually I adjust the lid myself. I'm not borderline OCD or anything.
On the right we have:
- My husband teaching my son how to insert IV's (using a banana, not each other)
- Some pics from an after school swim - because it's still triple digits here in SoCal, even thought it's September. That's how we roll.
- Another load of mulch from my friend Melinda, a load that came with friends. A California King snake and blue tailed skink. Fun!
-The crazy hot weather forecast. Yep, it's going to be 106 later this week.
-A very old MME embellishment from my stash (Family)
-Pics from the first soccer games of the season
And that's it for these weeks. My brain is starting to gear up for next year. I will for sure be doing Project Life again. I love that it lets me scrap little bits I want to remember (like the Ken and Barbie incident) without having to create a whole scrapbook page for it. It also allows me to get a memory in quickly in a small way, so that if I never get to the main page I plan on creating, I still have it recorded (for example, the first day of school). It's so flexible. My kids also love looking through these.
