Forgive the mess in my pictures. I've got stacks all over my craft room, going through my mom's stuff.
Last year I decided that I wanted to do an album for November this year. I intend for it to be like a December Daily in that it's a small album with daily pictures or entries. But I intend for it to be different in that it's about what I'm thankful for as well as quite a bit simpler. I wanted to savor gratitude, without stressing over it.
Of course though, November has snuck up on me! So I spent a little time in my office yesterday throwing together some fall supplies to start my journal this Saturday.
Here's what my basket looks like:
I took an empty basket and started throwing in any fall papers I could find, as well as a few coordinating ribbons and my whole tub of fall/Thanksgiving embellishments.
That's just how I store all of my themed embellishments. I figured I'd know where to find it if I needed fall embellishments for something else.
Then I started cutting some of those papers down to 5x7, because...I have no idea why I decided on 5x7. :) But I also cut some 4x4 papers that coordinated with the 5x7's I cut. Those will be photo mats.
Then I started putting a few of the 4x4 with coordinating 5x7 and any coordinating embellishments I thought of right away.
Like this:
I just clipped them together with paper clips. Nothing fancy.
The idea was to clip together stuff I might use on each page together...
And I was only using what was striking my fancy right away. I wasn't spending time thinking and really creating here. Just glance and clip whatever caught my attention.
I still have several pages that don't have anything clipped to them, and that's ok. I just wanted to get together what I could easily think of while I was into it, to save as much time as possible later.
I really like this way of getting things ready. It saves me time later so I'm more likely to actually do the project and it also allows me to make the necessary specific choices as needed when pics are actually printed. I'm thinking I'll use the same approach to prepping December Daily this year.
Do you guys do anything specific to capture your gratitude this time of year?
