It kind of makes my husband mad. Just a little. Sometimes he just wants a meal he can count on. I don't blame him, I just can't stop myself.
I spent a morning last week making sure I had fully segregated all the recipes I've tried on Pinterest and put them onto my "Recipes I've Tried and How They Came Out" board. It took some time.
I was surprised to see that I've actually tried almost 300 recipes on Pinterest (and some more that aren't from there). That felt like pretty good progress...until I looked at my "Recipes to Try" board and saw I still had almost 1,400 recipes I want to try. Hmmmmm. I'm tempted to do the math to see how many days it would take me to get through them all if I tried a new one each day.
But I'll restrain myself from doing so. Ok, I can't. It would be more than 3 years, almost 4 years. And that's assuming I don't try recipes from anywhere else those days instead, or, gasp, add even more to that pinboard. I'm really not sure I could go almost 4 years without pinning another recipe to that board. I'm pretty positive that would never pan out.
The least I can do for making you read through such a quirky confession that probably tells you far more about my personality than you want to know, is to share with you some of our family faves. You know, the ones that make the regular rotation.
So here goes, top 5. Click on any of the pictures and you'll be taken to the site with the recipe.
1- Korean Beef- I used the smallest amount of sugar in her range here. And I always have to make a double batch. We have it over brown rice in my family.
2- Baked Parmesan Tomatoes - This was the inspiration for my twice roasted salad. Totally addicting stuff.
3- Baked Strawberry Oatmeal - I have a few baked oatmeal recipes - This is my kids' favorite. I'm working on cleaning it up a bit though, so you might see a different version of it in a future post.
4- Tomato and Baby Bell Pepper Tartlets - The first time my husband saw these, he was like, "What is this healthy fancy stuff you're trying to get me to eat?" Then he fell in love.
5- Crock Pot Refried Beans - These make it into everything lately. I've even eaten them plain for breakfast. I know, weird.
Ok - I have a #6- I can't leave out my homemade ranch dressing from The Crafty Blog Stalker. I use twice as much mix per batch as she does, but it's the only ranch I like. Before this recipe, I didn't care for ranch at all. I also use this for other recipes that call for those expensive little packets of ranch dressing mix. Love it!
What are your favorite Pinterest recipes? I'd love to know (because you know, I need more recipes to try on my Pinboard ;) ).
