Lots of things in the works. I'm in survival mode for this week.
-Right now- I have vegetable soup on stove. Didn't follow a recipe, just threw in a bunch of veggies, a few lentils and beans, some stock, and I'll add herbs later. Smells delicious. I've been waiting to do this, and this morning's weather said, "Today's the day!".
It's an all day kind of thing. I'm just adding in veggies every hour in order of hardness to softness. I've heard it tastes better simmering all day vs. an hour or two. We shall see.
-I'm going to math conferene this weekend and I'm going crazy getting ready. My sweet mother in law is coming to town to take care of the kids (including taking them to school) on Friday while my hubby is in school and at work. I'm trying to make things as easy as possible for her. You know how it goes, need to prep meals, directions, etc... She'd be fine if I didn't, but again, I want to make things as easy on her as possible.
-Decided to start my baking early this year and freeze stuff. That way I can be more leisurely and less pressed for time in December and just bake for fun. Hopefully that will make me more excited to bake with my kids. :) As a result of that endeavor, I've been trying a bunch of new recipes (mostly from Pinterest) as well. I'm thinking I'll be doing a series on my blog in November. Fingers crossed, we'll see if I can get 30 days of Cookie Recipe Reviews going starting November first!
-I'm going to start my December Daily album ahead of time this year. I'm going the 8x8 route this time with Stampin' Up! divided page protectors. I'm thinking I'll make the inserts/backgrounds, but not assign them to pages. Then, as the month unfolds, I'll choose which ones I want and make others as needed. I'm going to try to work on it daily instead of once a week this year, so I'll need to have some work done ahead of time to stick with that.
That said, I have ordered some supplies and will start on that soon. Look for updates on the preparation for it (organizing, predone stuff, etc...) If you follow my Stampin With Alicia Facebook page you know one of my orders got derailed in Barstow. Still waitin' for it. :)
-NaNoWriMo starts Nov 1 as well. Last year I started a book and didn't finish it. I got quite a ways into it though. I'd like to finish it this year, but you know...I'm going to give it shot and allow myself to start a week late since I already have about 35,000 words written. That should give me a bit of a breather.
-Still trying and creating recipes for my vegetable cookbook to be released next October (2014).
-Planning a series to go with above mentioned cookbook.
-Working on a dedicated blog for my teacher/education stuff! Hopefully that'll be up by mid November!
-Speaking of The Elementary Professor, she now has her own Pinterest acount! Go here to follow that one vs. my regular achristian one.
-Whew! That's all I can think of at the moment, besides the regular Halloween stuff. Life is getting into that busy season of the year again! Check back soon for updates!
