Sometimes I battle it out in my head for far too long...the fight between the healthy green salad with grilled chicken breast for lunch, or the chocolate mocha that my taste buds are more into at the moment. Usually this is where I end up eating crud because I've waited too long to eat. Not today, uh uh. Today I combined the ideas.
This is the best of both worlds. Believe it or not there are greens in there! I figured if I could make green smoothies that taste like fruit and not the greens, why not add greens to another type of smoothie...the one that feels indulgent.
Here's what I put in it:
2 frozen bananas
1 large handful of mixed greens
1 heaping tablespoon of cocoa powder
1 large cup of room temperature leftover coffee
1/2 ripe avocado
a handful of ice (optional)
If you want perfectly creamy, leave out the ice. If you want a treat that's a little more like a frozen dessert, put the ice in.
Next step is to enjoy it with no guilt!
