This is still in the section of flashed pictures, so bear with the glare. It's also the beginning of a section of weeks that were really rough. There is an insert here so I have two pics of the two page spread, one with the insert each way.
The insert contains sympathy cards from my kids. It was their idea and they welcomed me home from a trip to my mom's with them.
On the left side we have:
-pics of releasing baby praying mantids in the garden to organically kill the grasshoppers and crickets
- a few pics of my husband taking out my son's stitches
- two kids of mine putting a puzzle together
- On the bottom right is a pic of a hibiscus from my mom's yard. She's known as a great gardener. She was a Master Gardener. The writing next to it details the story about how on Tuesday of this week, I was informed that my mom's chemo treatments weren't working, cancer was spreading, and she chose not to continue with any other treatments. I went to see her on Saturday, thinking I'd bring up the kids to say goodbye in two weeks (she doesn't live nearby), but when I got there I knew she wasn't going to be around much longer. She was declining so rapidly. I went back home that same night and brought my whole family up the next day. I put the picture of the hibiscus here because it so represents her, and the picture I have of her last days don't look like her. I really debated putting in the "real" picture. I am about comemorating all aspects of life in these albums, but at this point I decided against it. I wasn't ready. That picture might make it into some other layout far into the future. For this part I just put the beautiful flower to represent her.
On the right we have:
- pics from breakfast at a friend's house. Another mutual friend was visitng from Israel and it was very exciting to see them. This was my son's best friend in kinder and first. They've missed each other.
-pics from a play date in a local park with a splash pad
-week in review
That's it for this week.
